Power mapping in Sierra Leone
Access to electricity across Sierra Leone is often limited or unreliable in most rural communities. This results in chains of challenges with women and girls being the most affected. Mapillary, YouthMappers, OSM chapter in Sierra Leone, researchers, Arizona State University and other partners teamed up to map spatial features to support electrification in rural areas in Sierra Leone. Details of the project can be found here. After the mapping, YouthMappers Validation hub validated AI predicted utility poles in Sierra Leone. I created this interactive map to show utility poles distribution validated in the Hub and added to OpenStreetMap database. I used folium a python package build on leaflet for creating this interactive map.

This repository contains all the jupyter notebooks and R used for slum/deprivation mapping case study in Accra, Ghana. It contians codes for poverty mapping using machine learning and creating of urban streetblocks using OpenStreetMap data.
