  • Designed an interactive GIS web application for small area estimation for family planning using Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

  • Developed advanced visualizations/dashboards and an interactive web application to empower family planning with data-driven insights.

  • Actively engaged with partners and collaborators, fostering alignment and knowledge sharing across projects.​

Geospatial Data Analyst Intern (Aug 2022 - Feb 2023)

United Nations Development Program (UNDP), New York, USA   

  • Developed an AI model for detecting Informal Settlement using Remote Sensing and GIS Data 

  • Engineered a workflow for collecting, managing and cleaning multivariate datasets for mapping Informal Settlement

  • Developed a machine learning pipeline for deprived area mapping using Sklearn and Tensorflow 

  • Developed a pipeline for cloud and cloud shadow processing of Sentinel-2 using Google Earth Engine

Heidelberg Institute for Geoinformation Technology, Heidelberg, Germany          

  • Liaised with OpenStreetMap Working Growth to develop a framework for measuring remote and local data in OpenStreetMap. Result was presented at the State of the Map Conference 2021

  • Develop a workflow for analyzing OpenStreetMap edits and user contributions using Ohsome API

  • Conducted research and documented importance metrics for assessing OpenStreetMap users’ contribution

  • Conducted detailed assessment to identify problematic data and corrected them

Geospatial Data Scientist (Aug 2020 - Jul 2021)

University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands     

  • Developed an open-source and low-cost monitoring AI tool for detecting, monitoring, and analyzing deprived areas in Sub-Sahara Africa

  • Led a team to develop and test user-centered approach to map land use and slums. Results were published in an international journal (Impact factor 6.454)

  • Liaised with local experts to design slum visualization map that integrates end-user requirements and ethics 

  • Conducted research on errors in global population datasets using several statistical models and visualize multivariate relationship in data. Results were published in an international journal (Impact factor 5.349)

Teaching and Research Assistant (Jul 2017 - Aug 2018)

University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands     

  • Conducted periodic tutorials for Remote Sensing and GIS introductory courses for 50 students

  • Led a team to collect field data using mobile applications, organized focus group discussion and analyzed the data

  • Develop reports, graphs and tables for presentation, publication, and lectures

  • Coordinated urban planning workshop where all the student passed

Remote Sensing for Slum Mapping and Characterization in sub-Saharan African Cities (SLUMAP)

Jun 2019 - Jul 2022

The project focused on the use of open-source framework to map and characterized slums in Sub-Sahara African cities.

Integrated Deprived Area Mapping System (IDEAMAPS)

Aug 2021 - Present

This project uses computer models to semi-automatically classify deprived urban areas from satellite imagery and other spatial datasets, which allows mapping efforts to be scaled up.

Creative Director

Analysis of Local OpenStreetMap contributions

2019-Present

This project applies data mining techniques to extract and analyze OpenStreetMap (OSM) contributions for humanitarian assistance.
